Infantino Baby Backpack Carrier

Review #5: Infantino Front 2 Back Rider

The Front 2 Back Rider Baby Carrier from Infantino is an all in one carrier. It allows the baby to be carried on the back like in normal backpack carriers, but it

can also be adjusted to seat the baby on the front. While in the front, the baby can either be seated facing in or out depending on your needs.

Although carrying a baby on the backpack has been proven to be safe and effective, some parents feel more at ease to be able to keep their babies in sight. This eventually led to the design of the front carrying baby carrier.

The front carrying baby backpack carrier works like the backpack baby carrier, except that the baby carrying pouch is situated on the front. However, our backs are designed to carry weight towards the lower back and not at the front of the torso. Therefore front carrying designs have a problem of lower weight limits and greater discomfort and difficulty for the user.

To overcome this problem, Infantino Front 2 Back Rider Baby Carrier is designed with a lumbar strap that is the equivalent of a waist strap for baby backpack carrier. The lumbar strap transfers part of the front weight to the lower back. However, is built quite sturdily for providing good support, but to the extent where if you¡¯re a small framed person, you will find the lumbar strap being too loose to offer you any support.

To facilitate the multi-use capability of the backpack, the Infantino baby carrier comes with a bundle of straps. The large amount of straps makes it time consuming to adjust the backpack carrier. The backpack carrier can be difficult to put on alone at first, but is relatively convenient after the first time.

However, some cases require different users to wear the carrier, but adjusting the straps each time when a different person carries the baby can be a chore. Therefore some users buy more carriers if there will be more than one person who will carry the baby. Luckily the Infantino carrier cost less than half the price of other backpack carriers and buying multiple carriers is still relatively cheap.

Another problem with the straps is that those near the cockpit are found too close to the baby. Some babies have a tendency to suckle on the straps, much to the dismay of many parents. The Infantino carrier also do not come equipped with sun canopy or wind protection covers, which is a downside in many ways. Small babies can be quickly affected by sunshine or sudden winds.

The Infantino Front 2 Back Rider Baby Carrier allows you to carrying your baby on the back as well as front. The baby can lie onto your chest when he/she is asleep or take in all the sights and sound while you keep an eye on him/her.

Although the carrier may not be the most convenient carrier available, it is one of the cheapest carriers available and is great value for its price. For use on short trips by a regular user, especially indoors, you will find your ideal baby backpack carrier in Infantino.
