Safety tips when using a baby backpack carrier: Part I
Always buckle and tighten
all straps to secure your baby properly before you go
This is
especially true if you're carrying your baby behind you.
You cannot see your baby at all time, so your baby may be trying to
climb out of the carrier when you're on the move. A fall
from the baby backpack carrier can
result in serious injuries to your baby. To prevent this, make sure
your baby properly secured in place no matter how much he/she cries and
throw tantrums to be loosened from the seat.
Make it a point to check
on your baby once in a while
While this might
sound paranoia, you should look back and check on your baby. Besides
the danger of your baby loosening him/herself from the seat and
attempting to climb out, children can also become easily dehydrated in
warm weather. Also check your
baby's arms and legs to make sure he/she is comfortable and blood
circulation is normal.
Do NOT leave your baby
unattended
It may seem safe
to leave your baby in a backpack carrier, especially when the backpack
is left in a car or in your house. Unfortunately,
many babies suffocate each year from careless parents who forget about
their babies.
As parents get too familiar and
comfortable with their baby backpack carrier, they forget that the
backpack carrier is never meant for use as a baby seat or cot.
Accidents always occur when
people become too comfortable with their settings. |
